Our Inn is located on the eastern base of the Shenandoah National Park in Greene County, Virginia. Experience the beauty of a pristine mountain sunrise or sunset, observe native birds you have never seen before, or walk on our 28 acres to the Roach River and maybe see a native trout. Browse through our 2600 square feet of sustainably grown vegetables, pick some strawberries, listen to the corn grow and learn about sustainable gardening. For our meals we offer the experience of enjoying seasonal, local foods, many coming from our farm.
Our land was purchased by William Cox in 1760 with his home built in 1770. The original 230 year home is where your meals are served, and two bedrooms are located. When you walk in the old house, the feeling of history is immediately felt, and you can sit in the same room where conversation about the Revolutionary War was most definitely discussed. Enjoy tea, homemade sweets each day and wine tasting on Saturdays at 5:00 pm in the Library. In the winter, hot chocolate is served at 11:00 pm in the Library. Our Great Room has a Tulikivi soapstone fireplace and nine windows overlooking the mountain view from our 70 foot porch . If you want more privacy, our sunporch can be quiet and inspirational.
